We’re constantly striving to better serve our patients by improving even basic dental treatments. The x-ray is a ubiquitous dental tool – we must x-ray our patients frequently to determine there are no cavities lurking in areas inaccessible to the naked eye. Unfortunately, x-rays mean exposure to radiation. We never want to put our patients in harm’s way, and so we’ve sought out a solution that is both safer and produces images more conveniently: the digital x-ray.
Advantages of Digital X-Rays
- Less radiation – As we mentioned earlier, digital x-rays use a fraction of the radiation standard x-rays require. This means it’s safer to be x-rayed more frequently, and there will be fewer long-term effects from the radiation.
- Faster results – Digital x-rays produce images of your teeth and jaws instantly. There’s no wait for the x-rays to be developed; your dentist will be able to discuss them with you immediately.
- Images easily manipulated – Digital x-rays are digital photos. As those of us with a yen for Photoshop well know, it’s simple to manipulate, enhance, and show off digital photos. Your dentist is more easily able to show you problem areas on digital x-rays and to explain the appropriate course of treatment.
- Ease of coordination of treatment – Should you need to visit another dental professional like an oral surgeon, we will be able to share files digitally. This ease of x-ray access is also helpful for patients submitting insurance claims.
Digital Intraoral Camera
We’ve uncomplicated your dental treatment even further by using an intraoral camera. When working in your mouth, we’re able to capture images with a tiny digital camera that then allows us to share those images with you and explain course of treatment. Moreover, your dentist can easily examine areas of interest and ensure minute perfection when placing restorations.
Our dental technology allows our skill level to shine even brighter. Our patients appreciate the ways we’ve made their treatment more comfortable, and we appreciate happy patients!
